Guidehouse is looking to strategically appoint a director for its Energy Provider's Market teams.
Role Overview:
The position of Account Director is responsible for driving account growth and ensuring client satisfaction. It requires someone who is proactive, with a strong sales background and business insight, and a successful history in selling complex solutions. Deep knowledge of Utilities & Energy business processes is essential. Successful candidates will be passionate about achieving and maintaining delivery excellence.
Responsibilities:
- Enhance growth and client satisfaction in Guidehouse’s Energy Providers Practice by developing, selling, and guiding the delivery of strategic advising, technology, and risk management consulting projects, mainly focusing on Investor-Owned Utilities
- The role supports the Energy Practice through the following:
- Building and expanding long-term client relationships that foster repeat business, achieving and exceeding annual sales goals
- Leading efforts to secure new consulting deals
- Developing strong advisory relationships with key stakeholders in Utility clients
- Working with senior consultants on delivery, solution, and technology teams across Guidehouse to offer a wider range of services to Energy Provider clients
- Improve client business performance through:
- Benchmarking, process improvements, setting performance metrics, conducting risk assessments, and applying continuous improvement methods
- Evaluating and guiding necessary business and organizational changes
- Creating result-oriented business processes and supporting the development and implementation of strategies and business models
- Overseeing projects, directing team development, planning work outlines, coordinating technical inputs, and managing budgets and timelines
- Provide strategic industry expertise and thought leadership in projects both within the team and across the organization
- Mentor and guide junior staff members
- Manage client relationships and oversee project delivery
Requirements:
- US Citizen or US Permanent Resident status due to client engagement constraints
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or a related field, plus ten or more years’ management consulting experience within power utilities (excluding Oil & Gas or Telecommunications); or a Master’s degree in a related field plus eight or more years’ experience
- Executive-level expertise in power utilities or commercial energy, with significant industry background, including knowledge in infrastructure, asset management, regulation, and clean energy trends
- Proven experience in business development initiatives and account management, including the creation of account plans and leading team activities
- Full lifecycle solution proficiency, from strategy to operations
- Strong writing, reporting, and presentation skills for client deliverables
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities
- High level of confidence and perseverance
- Advanced organizational and management skills
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks efficiently
- Proficiency in using spreadsheets, databases, and presentation software
- Capability to work onsite at Guidehouse or client locations
- Flexibility to travel as needed
- Must currently reside within the contiguous United States
Preferred Skills:
- Preferably located near an Energy Providers Client Office or core Guidehouse Office
- Proficiency in developing and using analytical models and simulations
- Demonstrated ability to create and execute account GTM strategies in the utilities sector
- Innovative proposal and commercial development skills
- Familiarity with Infrastructure Resilience, generation and digitalization integration for energy resilience, Grid OT/IT, AI/ML Technology Modernization solutions, Cybersecurity, Portfolio & Asset Management
- Experience in Transmission & Distribution (T&D) with in-depth knowledge of infrastructure resilience trends
- Certifications in relevant technology platforms
The salary range for this position is $197,000.00-$328,000.00. Compensation decisions are based on various factors, including skill sets, experience, training, clearances, certifications, and organizational requirements.
