About the position

Responsibilities

  • Greet the public
  • Assist the public with permits, licenses, and other departmental processes
  • Direct queries to appropriate staff for assistance
  • Provide appropriate forms to visitors seeking approval for projects and distribute permits to applicants whose projects have been approved
  • Answer the general phone number for the department
  • Receive permit payments and maintain receipts
  • Provide planning support
  • Maintain all department records, including files and logs of activities
  • Administer property records
  • Prepare minutes and agendas for the Planning and Zoning Commission and Historic Design Review Committee
  • Prepare packets for meetings
  • Schedule and prepare meeting rooms
  • Support staff with zoning administration and permit procedures, including Legal Ads, Public Notices, Zoning Permits, Variances, Land Divisions, Encroachments, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years experience in work related to public administration, office management, and/or personnel management
  • Customer service experience
