About the position
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Automation Technician II to join our automation team in the oil and gas industry. As an Automation Technician II, you will assist in the design, implementation, and maintenance of automation systems in our facilities. This role is crucial for ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our control systems, which are integral to our operations. In this position, you will assist in the installation and configuration of control systems, including programmable logic controllers (PLCs), remote terminal units (RTUs), and human-machine interfaces (HMIs). You will maintain good working relationships with EOG production, midstream, and water groups, which is essential for effective collaboration and communication across departments. Your responsibilities will also include performing routine maintenance and troubleshooting on control systems to ensure their reliable operation. You will assist in the testing and commissioning of new control systems, which involves reading and interpreting technical documentation such as electrical and pneumatic schematics, loop drawings, and control narratives. Collaboration with other automation team members and cross-functional teams will be key to identifying and resolving technical issues that may arise. Additionally, you will participate in safety meetings, safety audits, and safety programs to ensure compliance with safety regulations and protocols. Documentation is a critical aspect of this role, as you will be responsible for maintaining records of control system configuration changes, maintenance activities, and equipment inventory. Staying up-to-date with new technologies and industry trends in automation systems will also be part of your ongoing professional development.
Responsibilities

Requirements
- 3+ years oilfield automation experience preferred. ,
- Good driving record required. ,
- Ability to read and interpret technical documentation such as electrical and pneumatic schematics, loop drawings, and control narratives. ,
- Experience in troubleshooting and diagnosing automation problems. ,
- Technical support experience to assist other personnel in identifying and resolving issues. ,
- Experience in the installation and calibration of automation equipment, including sensors, PLCs, RTUs, and HMIs. ,
- Experience in preventive maintenance on automation equipment and systems.
