Job Summary:
Burtch Works is a data-driven entertainment and media company focused on delivering personalized customer experiences. They are seeking a Business Data Analyst to join their Marketing Performance team, where the individual will analyze business trends and provide insights on customer acquisition and company-wide KPIs.
Responsibilities:
• Own and deliver weekly performance reporting across marketing and acquisition KPIs, summarizing results in a clear, executive-friendly format.
• Conduct ad hoc deep-dives to uncover trends, drivers, and root causes—considering both internal business operations and external market dynamics.
• Use statistical and analytical methods (e.g., Pareto analysis, regression, forecasting) to identify risks and opportunities in performance.
• Partner closely with the Analytics team to validate insights independently and build credibility in your recommendations.
• Work cross-functionally with Product, Channel Leads, Marketing, Finance, and GTM teams to align on KPIs and shape performance measurement strategies.
• Build and maintain dashboards and reports using SQL and BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker) to enable self-service analytics.
• Continuously improve workflows and reporting pipelines through automation and simplification.
• Translate complex, multi-source data into clear, compelling stories that drive business action.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics, Marketing, Economics, Data Science, or a related field.
• Experience: 5+ years in a hands-on data/analytics role focused on business performance.
• Strong experience with acquisition, forecasting, or performance management in a marketing or growth environment.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in SQL (required); working knowledge of Python a plus.
• Strong experience building dashboards using Power BI, Tableau, or Looker.
• Familiarity with DMAIC, Pareto analysis, and performance improvement methodologies.
• Soft Skills: Self-starter who takes initiative, owns outcomes, and fails fast when necessary.
• Confident communicator able to present to technical and executive audiences alike.
• Curious, fast-moving, and adaptable in a dynamic environment.
• Strong collaborator who thrives in cross-functional settings.
Preferred:
• Experience working in media, telecom, subscription, or performance marketing industries.
• Understanding of external influences on acquisition strategy (e.g., pricing, market shifts, promotions).
• Experience integrating third-party data sources into performance analysis.
