Cybersecurity Analyst I – Cyber Threat Intel (Remote)

The Home Depot’s Cyber Threat Intelligence team is looking to add to its world-class group of intelligence analysts and add a Cyber Threat Intelligence Analyst I team member. This associate does not need to of had a long career in Cyber Threat Intelligence or cybersecurity, but they do need an innate willingness to learn and previous analytical and research experience.

This role requires candidates to have curiosity and proactively monitor the threat landscape and provide situational awareness. This role will involve gaining experience using clear, deep, and dark web intelligence tools in the defense of the organization. All applicants need to have a proven track record of thinking outside of the box, and previous experience identifying threats or risks.

This Role Is Within One Of The Cyber Defense Pillars Within The Organization’s Security Operation Center. Specifically, This Role Is Within The Cyber Threat Intelligence Team Within The Cyber Threat Investigations And Offensive Security Group.

The primary Job Role of this Position Is To Provide Situational Awareness And Dissemination To Cybersecurity To Support Security Operations Via Research, Analysis, Monitoring, Coordination, Exchange, Control, And Dissemination Of Intelligence And Community Reporting. Knowledge Of The MITRE ATT&CK Framework Is a Plus, As This Role Will Support The Cyber Threat Intelligence Team In Responding To Vulnerability Intelligence, All-Source Intelligence, And Brand Intelligence Threats. The Title Of This Role Is Cyber Threat Intelligence Analyst I And Includes The Following

Requirements:

  • Previous analytical and research experience.
  • Skilled at managing competing priorities.
  • Incident response understanding.
  • Key term as a part of intelligence collection.
  • Ability to research and compose well-written reports and documentation that may be disseminated to large parts of the organization.
  • Has a growth mindset and is looking to enhance their technical, soft skills, and intelligence tradecraft.
  • Familiarity with intelligence writing and structured analytic techniques such as analysis of competing hypotheses, “Devil’s Advocate”, and biases.
  • An understanding of Cyber Threat Intelligence and in-depth familiarity with reporting from cybersecurity researchers, vendors, and open-source outlets.

Analysts perform data gathering, analysis, synthesis and develop solutions to support THD Cybersecurity practices.

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • 30% Analysis – Perform data gathering, synthesis, and develop solutions; Leverage department standards to achieve results
  • 30% Collaborate – Partner with teams to identify trends and resolve problems
  • 40% Drive Execution – Evaluate information and provide recommendations based on findings

  • This Position typically reports to Manager or Sr. Manager

Travel Requirements:

 

  • Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

Physical Requirements:

 

  • Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

Working Conditions:

 

  • Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.

Minimum Qualifications:

 

  • Must be eighteen years of age or older.
  • Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.

Minimum Education:

 

  • The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor’s degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.
