What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Conduct assessments of alleged child abuse and neglect, including interviewing household members and visiting various locations
- Analyze gathered information to assess the safety of children and take necessary protective measures
- Prepare written and oral testimony for Children's Court appearances and maintain documentation on caseloads
- Collaborate closely with social service agencies, hospitals, clinics, courts, and community resources to meet the needs of children and families
- Participate in a 24-hour on-call rotation to provide access and initial assessment services for children in the community

What is Required (Qualifications):
- Valid driver's license and a minimum of two years of licensed driving experience
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Experience, training, or education in social welfare, social science, or a related field
- Experience creating written reports or assessments and handling competing priorities
- Ability to make unbiased decisions in stressful situations

How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Associate degree or higher in social welfare, social science, or a related field
- Experience interpreting and applying social welfare-related laws and regulations
- Training in interviewing diverse populations to gather information and make recommendations
- Experience de-escalating situations and managing a caseload independently
- Experience investigating allegations of child abuse or neglect
