About the position
The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICCU) at Children's Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) plays a crucial role in providing specialized care for neonates with complex medical conditions. Under general supervision, the RN conducts patient assessments, collaborates with healthcare team members, and implements care plans tailored to the developmental needs of each patient. This position is integral to the delivery of family-centered care in a top-ranked pediatric hospital, ensuring that each patient receives the highest quality of medical attention.
Responsibilities
- Conduct patient assessments in the NICCU.
- Participate in the development of individualized care plans.
- Implement and evaluate care according to patient-specific needs.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members in delivering care.
- Follow applicable policies and procedures regarding supplies, pharmaceuticals, and equipment.
Requirements
- Current RN license in California.
- Experience in a neonatal intensive care setting preferred.
- Strong assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Nice-to-haves
- Certification in Neonatal Intensive Care Nursing (RNC-NIC) is a plus.
- BLS and NRP certifications are preferred.
