Onsite Patient Collection Specialist
About the position
As the Onsite Patient Collections Specialist, you are responsible for assisting in verifying insurance co-pays, payment posting for patients accounts, counseling patients on insurance benefits and co-payments. The Onsite Patient Collections Specialist position has the possibility to work 1 of 3 shifts at a local hospital.
Responsibilities
- Verify patient insurance
- Post payments to patient account
- Arrange for repayment or establish repayment schedules, based on customers financial situations
- Submit money collected at the end of each shift
- Data entry (knowledge of Excel spreadsheets) and scanning documents
- Answer customer questions regarding their accounts
- Speak with patients face to face using excellent customer service abilities
- Reliable transportation is a requirement
Requirements
- Minimum one year related experience preferred, preferably in healthcare
