Open Space/Natural Resources Facilities Coordinator-Part Time
SCHEDULE: From April - September position is 40 hours per week, working 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM Saturday and Sunday scheduled and the other 20 hours as needed. From October - March position is 20 hours per week, working 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM Saturday and Sunday Requires work on holidays.Performs a variety of tasks to assist in the coordination, development, and implementation of programs, services, and resources for the Open space/Natural Resources sites and facilities in the Parks and Open Space Department.Primarily responsible for management of Aurora Reservoir and other Open Space and Natural Resources sites on weekends and holidays. Open Space system includes: two reservoirs (one with swim beach, concession, and boat storage/mooring operation,) a rodeo arena, small nature system and trail system. Responsibilities include; management of special events, facility rentals, participates in recommending, scheduling, and conducting facility maintenance, assists with scheduling facility maintenance, performs janitorial and snow removal duties; provides assistance in supervising program sites, schedules and oversees activities of temporary employees, volunteers, and/or court service workers; performs administrative tasks such as purchasing, maintaining expenditure records and reconciling information; collects and monitors the collection of fees/revenues; assists in interviewing, selecting, training, and evaluating of seasonal/temporary employees; performs physical labor, and performs additional duties as assigned. Is the primary Administrative representative on weekends and Holidays.Education: Two years of college in business, or a directly related field.Experience: At least 2 years park/leisure services experience. An An equivalent combination of education, training and experience that demonstrates required knowledge, skills and abilities may be considered.Knowledge: Knowledge of facility management, scheduling and program coordination, cash management and customer service preferably in a park and recreation setting.Abilities: Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and citizens; handle sensitive or stressful situations with tact and diplomacy; communicates effectively both orally and in writing; coordinate facility schedule and coordinate and oversee the work of others; work nights and weekends.Skills: Strong interpersonal and organizational skills; skill in using computer with related software.LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES REQUIRED: First Aid and CPR Certifications are preferred.Physical Demands: Sedentary to moderate physical work depending upon assignment; may require ability to lift up to maximum of 50 pounds; may require lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 20 pounds; may require regular standing and walking; may require, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, and climbing; hand/eye coordination for operation of computer; may require foot/eye coordination for operation of motor vehicle; vision to read reports and other written material; frequent speech communication and hearing to maintain communication with employees and citizens.Work Environment: Works primarily in clean, comfortable environment; will require outdoor work with exposure to dust , noise and all varieties of weather conditions.Equipment Used: Cash register, calculator, and personal computer with related software programs; motor vehicle.
