Summary

  • Responsible to the physicians for the full scope of nursing duties
Responsibilities
  • Triage patients in the office as needed.
  • Administer immunizations, antibiotics, allergy shots and oral medications.
  • Assist with traumas, clean and prepare the wound for treatment. Counsel patients in the office and by telephone.
  • Administer Nebulizer treatments for asthma patients. Perform catheterizations.
  • Assist physicians when necessary during patient situations.
  • Triage patient calls to determine if they need to be seen or if medication may be prescribed based on doctor’s approval.
  • Call in prescriptions for patients that have called in for advice and medication.
  • Fill out forms needed by patients for daycare, schools, college, WIC forms, etc.
  • Transfer information to charts, during patient calls, phone reports, and inform the physician of report.
  • Perform audio, visual tests and tympanograms when needed..
  • Assist with patient education, i.e., Asthma and Diabetes.
  • Order supplies and medications.
  • Performs other duties as required
Requirements

  1. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  2. Experience in pediatric or clinic/office setting is preferred. 
  3. Current Alabama license. BCLS certification within 30 days of employment.
