RN - 3 Days/wk - Vestavia, AL
Summary
- Responsible to the physicians for the full scope of nursing duties
- Triage patients in the office as needed.
- Administer immunizations, antibiotics, allergy shots and oral medications.
- Assist with traumas, clean and prepare the wound for treatment. Counsel patients in the office and by telephone.
- Administer Nebulizer treatments for asthma patients. Perform catheterizations.
- Assist physicians when necessary during patient situations.
- Triage patient calls to determine if they need to be seen or if medication may be prescribed based on doctor’s approval.
- Call in prescriptions for patients that have called in for advice and medication.
- Fill out forms needed by patients for daycare, schools, college, WIC forms, etc.
- Transfer information to charts, during patient calls, phone reports, and inform the physician of report.
- Perform audio, visual tests and tympanograms when needed..
- Assist with patient education, i.e., Asthma and Diabetes.
- Order supplies and medications.
- Performs other duties as required
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Experience in pediatric or clinic/office setting is preferred.
- Current Alabama license. BCLS certification within 30 days of employment.
