Webuild, in joint venture, leads this project—constructing 3.2 km of tunnel using advanced technology and two underground stations designed for future capacity, safety, accessibility, and seamless integration with Toronto’s transit network. More than construction, PTUS reflects our commitment to innovation and infrastructure that serves future generations. </p><p><br></p><p>To learn more about our project: Ontario Line - Pape Tunnel and Underground Stations</p><p><br></p><p><strong><u>About the Job</u></strong></p><p><br></p><p>We are hiring a Site Engineer to join our Construction team on the Pape Tunnel and Underground Stations. This position reports to the Construction Manager.</p><p><br></p><p><strong><u>What You Will be Doing</u></strong></p><ul><li>Supervise day-to-day construction activities onsite to ensure they align with the project plans and specifications.</li><li>Monitor the work of contractors and labourers to ensure compliance with safety, quality, and efficiency standards.</li><li>Provide technical advice and resolve any issues related to engineering or construction onsite.</li><li>Ensure proper interpretation and application of architectural and engineering drawings.</li><li>Conduct regular quality checks and inspections to verify that materials and workmanship meet project standards.</li><li>Identify and address defects or deficiencies in the construction process.</li><li>Assist in planning construction activities and developing schedules.</li><li>Collaborate with project managers, architects, and other stakeholders to ensure timely progress.</li><li>Ensure the construction site adheres to City of Toronto's health and safety regulations.</li><li>Implement and enforce safety measures and conduct risk assessments to maintain a safe working environment.</li><li>Ensure materials used onsite meet the required specifications and are available as needed.</li><li>Coordinate with suppliers and manage inventory to avoid delays.</li><li>Maintain accurate records of construction activities, progress, and changes to plans.</li><li>Prepare site reports, including updates on progress, safety incidents, and quality issues, for submission to project managers or clients.</li><li>Address onsite issues, such as unforeseen conditions, equipment malfunctions, or design discrepancies.</li><li>Liaise with engineers and designers to resolve technical challenges effectively.</li><li>Act as a link between the construction crew, project management team, and clients.</li><li>Communicate progress, technical updates, and any concerns to all stakeholders.</li><li>Ensure all construction activities adhere to City of Toronto’s building codes, environmental guidelines, and zoning regulations.</li><li>Assist with inspections conducted by municipal authorities or third-party auditors.</li><li>Use software and tools like AutoCAD, BIM (Building Information Modeling), and project management platforms for planning and execution.</li><li>Implement technological solutions to improve efficiency and accuracy onsite.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong><u>What We Are Looking For?</u></strong></p><ul><li>University, College, or Postgraduate Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Construction, or related field.</li><li>5+ years of construction experience on multidisciplinary, large-scale subway and/or infrastructure projects.</li><li>Proven experience in managing and supervising construction projects.</li><li>Strong project management skills with the ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously.</li><li>Proficiency in MS Office Suite and using project management software and tools (e.g. AutoCAD, MS Project, Bluebeam).</li><li>Relevant certifications such as Professional Engineer and/or Project Management Professional are preferred.</li><li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working collaboratively in a team environment.</li><li>Demonstrate creativity, foresight, and mature judgment in anticipating and solving problems.</li><li>Interface with clients on project activities including data gathering, site investigation, and project status.</li><li>Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, permitting processes, and Ontario Building Code regulations and standards.</li><li>Knowledge of environmental and health and safety legislation in Ontario.</li><li>Understanding of budget and schedule constraints.</li><li>Possession of a full and valid Ontario driver's license.</li><li>Ability to travel and work onsite as required by project demands.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong><u>Why Choose Webuild?</u></strong></p><ul><li>Competitive base salary with RRSP matching up to 4% (for permanent employees).</li><li>Work on major linear infrastructure projects across Canada.</li><li>Group Benefits from Day 1 (20+ hours/week, permanent roles)</li><li>Employee and Family Assistance Program</li><li>Work/life balance encouraged</li><li>3–5 weeks of vacation based on experience</li><li>Tailored training and development</li><li>20% discount at GoodLife Fitness for Ontario employees</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong><u>Join the Webuild Life</u></strong></p><p><em>At Webuild, we believe diverse perspectives drive innovation, strengthen teams, and lead to better outcomes.
