About the position

Tact Staff is seeking a travel nurse RN for the Emergency Department (ED) in Abingdon, Virginia. This position is designed for registered nurses who are looking to take on a travel nursing role, providing care in a fast-paced emergency department setting. The selected candidate will be expected to work 12-hour shifts, totaling 36 hours per week, over a duration of 13 weeks, starting on September 15, 2024. The role requires the nurse to have a permanent residence that is at least 100 miles away from the hospital's service area, ensuring that the position is indeed a travel assignment. General orientation for new travelers will commence on Sundays, with online computer-based learning (CBLs) scheduled for that day. It is important for candidates to complete all compliance documents by the specified deadline to ensure a smooth onboarding process. The hospital reserves the right to cancel or call off one shift biweekly without incurring financial penalties if there is a decrease in patient census. Additionally, any extra shifts taken beyond the agreed commitment will be adjusted based on the hospital's needs without penalty. As part of the contract, RN and LPN team members are expected to engage in nursing student support and clinical education, contributing to the training of future nurses while also providing clinical care. This dual responsibility is a vital aspect of the role, emphasizing the importance of mentorship and education in the nursing profession. Tact Medical Staffing is dedicated to providing nurses with rewarding assignments across premier healthcare institutions nationwide, ensuring that each travel experience is both professionally enriching and personally fulfilling.
