Yard Truck and City Driver

About the position

Responsibilities

  • Operate a Yard Truck to transport trailers safely to designated locations.
  • Maintain records, logs, and forms required by the Department of Transportation (DOT).
  • Drive tractor/trailers in a safe manner adhering to all regulations.
  • Inspect mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment of the tractor/trailer unit before, during, and after trips.
  • Plan routes based on local and state traffic laws and restrictions.
  • Comply with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity.
  • Maintain a clean work environment to ensure safety and compliance.
  • Utilize warehouse management systems to move trailers to designated locations.

Requirements

  • Valid state-issued driver's license.
  • Obtain Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) within 6 months of job entry date.
  • Minimum of 30 months experience in a full-time Class A tractor/trailer driving position in the previous 3 years.
  • No more than two moving violations in the last three years.
  • No serious traffic violations in the last three years.
  • No convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI, or reckless driving involving alcohol/drugs in the last ten years.
  • No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three years.

Nice-to-haves

  • Hazmat endorsement (or ability to obtain within 120 days of hire).
